Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily cleaning activities across assigned shifts, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to quality standards
- Perform and oversee various cleaning tasks including floor care, buffing, and general custodial duties in commercial, industrial, or residential settings
- Train and mentor janitorial staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment use
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness standards are met and identify areas for improvement
- Manage supplies inventory, order necessary cleaning products and equipment, and ensure proper maintenance of tools
- Enforce safety procedures and maintain compliance with health regulations during all cleaning operations
- Assist with specialized cleaning projects such as floor buffing, maintenance tasks, or facility repairs as needed
- Document shift activities, report issues to management, and provide feedback for process improvements
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning, custodial work, or industrial cleaning environments
- Strong knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing and maintenance of various flooring types
- Experience with facilities maintenance, including residential painting or general upkeep is a plus
- Leadership skills with prior experience supervising janitorial or porter teams
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness standards
- Good communication skills for coordinating team activities and reporting issues
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during assigned shift
